Dipu Das Tushar / Tepa Doll

 Tepa Doll Collection

"Tepa Dolls" is one of the elements of Bengali tradition. The presence of Tepa dolls can be noticed from ancient times. The antiquity of the Tepa dolls found in Harappa, Mohenjodaro can also be seen. The process of making tepa dolls is also wonderful. 'Tepa dolls' are made by pressing light hard clay to give different shapes. However, in many cases the body of the doll is made on a wheel and the head, hands are made by hand. It is then hardened by burning in the fire. Some use colors and some do not. However, in both cases the color of the 'tepa doll' is reddish.
The 'tepa dolls' in my collection were found while cutting soil near our house in the village and the molded dolls were collected from various fairs.

  2. Tepa dolls are a very core attribute of our pottery culture. You have brought your collection before the audience as a reminiscence of our impaired pottery. Bravo Mr. Das. Best of luck.
